E, watching sea lion feeding from above
We started out the morning with a trip to the zoo. It’s been raining off and on here for the past few days, and this morning was the coolest morning we’ve had in months. The animals seemed revived and were at play in earnest. The crowds stayed away so it was a nice, relaxing way to just stand and watch them for a long time. The chimps and orangutans are finally interacting more in their new exhibit – it was months before they would even show themselves in the new place. Today there were eleven chimps out, and we spent nearly half an hour watching them swing through the trees and interact with each other in much the same way we do. The sea lions were great to watch, as always.
After we spent a few hours watching animals, we decided to make one of our own. E’s favorite babysitter and pal had given her a gift certificate to Build-A-Bear, so we went into the zoo shop and made a new animal friend. She’s got quite the animal collection going now, and today she added a new hippo, “Otto”.

Back home she made some thank you notes, the first for her gift card, the second for the baseball tickets from last weekend. #5 Pujols is back on first base again…
And the work continues in the back room again, which is where I’m headed now.
Filling nail holes, ready for paint
I’ve been waiting to hear about Ella’s 4th birthday party!
Was there a theme this year? Any cute photos of the party/birthday girl?
Love the new blog format! Very fun!

I’m working on it right now – was waiting to get photos from different sources.
Glad you’re enjoying it!
