The party continued on the golf course. E never quite got the form down, but rallied occasionally. O looked more professional, although he sort of faked it well. There were lots of wayward balls and par 14 holes. No one seemed to mind.
The fun continued on the go cart track for these two teams (post party laps). Too bad she doesn’t seem to like it too much…whatever…
The buddies with the birthday girl. And then later that afternoon we went to the opening reception for a new addition at our local science center that was done by my office. The whole family donned lab coats and got busy.
Earlier in the day, E worked on a birthday present for the party – a race track with two cars that were to be propelled by rubber bands. Several prototypes of the cars failed, and I finally convinced her not to wrap up some of her Connect Four checkers for bumpers at the end of the track. The cars morphed into binoculars for viewing the race, and a handmade horn for signaling the start was fashioned out of plastic tubing from some gerber daisy stems and paper. We compromised on the cars by picking up a few convertibles at Target on the way, but she’s still thinking about how to make them on her on, so keep tuned for updates. I wonder how 3M / Scotch tape stocks are doing…
The grownups ended the day at this theatre watching Burn After Reading and laughing hysterically, followed with some late night goodies at the Chocolate Bar. The kiddo had her own movie and pizza night at school and we deemed the day a roaring whirlwind of a success. Hope you had a stellar weekend as well.
