We tend to go all out here on birthdays (and still plan to do one up right for E in September) but I wisely put my birthday planning frenzy on the back burner long before the baby came. And good thing, because I was only able to get the bakery made cupcakes and balloons together because my mother-in-law was still here. The party was a lot of fun, with just our best buds and six candles. And of course, we took the obligatory shot of F with her one-month-old cupcake – just as we did each month with E during her first year. Luckily F was asleep at the time – E always looked at us like we were crazy for shoving cake in front of her face and then taking it right back away and devouring it ourselves.
And again the smile alludes me after a bath, but she’s smiling all over herself today.
