These were gifts for teachers and staff at E’s school. The Parents Association collects money and gifts from families and then puts together great gift bags for all the staff at school. I thought I’d try out melting hard candies in the center of cookies, and these cream cheese sugar cookies are nice and sturdy and hold up well with the extra goodies and the extra large size. I still think it’s a little weird to have a hard candy in the middle of a soft cookie, but they look super cool, especially when held up to the light. I might try this for an ornament – I’ve been kind of jazzed to add a kitchen tree to the lineup, like this one. Maybe next year when I have two sets of little hands to get messy with.
