Tomatoes from the garden, greens and corn from the market and a watermelon from who knows where – I took this photo a few weeks back, pre-computer crash. It was such a nice summer dinner, and one we came up with on the fly. M threw the corn under the broiler to roast it instead of firing up the grill and it worked perfectly. We had eaten a really delicious frittata at Bittersweet with roasted corn, and it really does make the dish. Some roasted red peppers went in (whatever were left after F attacked the pile) and less than ten minutes later dinner was on the table. I took the leftovers to work the next day, and when I reassemble everything it looked just like that – summer on a plate.
