If you have a new little one (and it seems like there are a lot of those around us right now), I thought I’d give a little update on our experience with g diapers.  F is on the verge of moving into the large size from the medium (the same inserts work for both those sizes), and so I took advantage of a sale to get a six-pack of new covers.  I’ve found that six works well for us as far as keeping up with the laundry – right now we have more than that since she can still wear the mediums.  Most days she just wears one outer cover with only the inserts being changed.  That’s what I really like about this diaper – not a lot of extra laundry.  We also started this system because Whole Foods carried the liners which meant that we wouldn’t have to drive out to the boonies to a Babies r’Us to get them.  Then Whole Foods stopped selling them, and Babies r’Us never had them in stock, so I turned to their online sales.  That was the best idea.  I signed up for the regular shipments – you can set the number of cases and the spacing between deliveries, plus you get a discount of $8 per case, which is significant.  I’ve found that one case (4 bags) every four weeks is working for us, and the delivery part couldn’t be easier.

They have new fall colors that are so cute, and a few of the six-packs left of the old colors at a great price.  That’s what I opted for in the large size – three vanilla and three orange – not as cute as those others, but they are diapers after all, and the sale price is too good.  They also now offer cloth liner inserts which would give you a whole cloth option if you are into that kind of laundry.  For us, tossing or flushing those biodegradable liners is the about the best thing ever.  Well, second only to a potty-trained child.
