The hard part about blogging this time of year is that all the really interesting stuff is top secret. After the kids are in bed, the evenings consist of a lot of elfing – which really means a lot of Christmas card making, with a little baking on the side. To say that this year’s Christmas card is ambitious is a bit of a misnomer. I could blame E, who designed it, but that’s not very gracious of me when the responsibility lies entirely upon me. So far I’m thoroughly enjoying the process, particularly since the first floor is cleaned up after a week long tree resurrection, and I have the best seat in the house while I work.
I’m very excited about this year’s gifts to friends and teachers, etc. It’s a bit of a departure, and perhaps I won’t keep it so secret, and actually photograph and write about it a bit. I’m off to do a bit of research now – why I’m starting this at 11:15 is beyond me, but ’tis the season. I will say that M and I got a little power nap post-Harry Potter chapter reading – it’s hard not to doze off next to a cuddly kid under flannel sheets.
I’m waiting for this cold snap to snap to get the outside greenery hung, but until then we’ll hang out indoors, near the tree to end all trees. Photos of that tomorrow – I promise.
