that’s all you got?

Posted on May 4, 2011 by thirdstoryies
I know the common response to the question that is sometimes posed to new moms, “Just how do you manage to stay in such good shape?” is often something along the line of “never having time to eat” or “running around chasing a toddler is good exercise”.  And first, let me be clear – no one’s asking me this question.  I’m mostly talking about the predictable interviews with more famous, more svelte mothers that you see everywhere.  I can attest to the running around part a bit, although I can still manage to park myself for brief periods of time on a bench with a coffee cup in hand before I have to perform a search and rescue operation.  (Less parking might mean more svelte, but I’m still opting for the coffee choice at the moment.)  However, some toddler who shall remain nameless – on this blog at least – has discovered her new favorite playground activity.  So if you haven’t tried out a teeter-totter apparatus lately, particularly with someone who is a quarter of your weight, then give it a whirl.
And let me know how those thighs are treating you for the next few days.
…..
Photo of my new relentless trainer above – if I pause too long between squats, this is the look I get.  Hmmm, wonder if I can do this while drinking my coffee?
