Thanks to some better advice from friends, ant treatment #2 was much more successful than #1 – ants be gone. And those other bugs – gone as well. We’re still going to amp up on the preventative measures as we head back to school tomorrow though.
So now that I can bear to be back in the kitchen again – and since the raspberries and peaches are coming cheap, here’s what I did this weekend:
My new favorite salad (as wistfully dreamed of here), and my first two Jeni’s tries: Sweet Corn with Black Raspberry Sauce (I had to use red with the plethora of cheap raspberries) and Peach Lambic Sorbet – for the over 21 crowd.
Also, some Derby Pie Bar Cookies – recipe to follow this week. No photographs of those – I wrapped them up ready to go before I thought to get out the camera.
E and I are off to the races with friends – with F and Dad following post-nap. It’s stunning here today – crisp, cooler with a big sunny blue sky over head. Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day.
