You might remember that I purchased this paper cut at the Lantern Festival at the garden earlier this summer. It was the end of the night, and I wanted this particular one, and so the seller gave it to me in the frame he was using to display it. Unfortunately the frame was really cheap and sort of ugly, plus the paper cut itself was just sitting on top of a flimsy piece of paper that has now wrinkled in the humidity. The only thing keeping the fragile paper cut in place was the static electricity from the plexiglass it was resting against. Every time I walk past a display of frames I’ve looked for a square one but I haven’t had any luck finding a size bigger than 5″x5″ or with a simple enough black frame. I finally found one at Michael’s last week and today I got it out and put this together – using the tiniest bit of appropriate repositionable adhesive – just enough to tack the paper cut in place.
It looks sooooo much better now, and I’m happy to have it out of the closet and sitting in a more permanent home. It might move again – who knows? But I think it’s liking this spot quite a bit. And speaking of closet… that’s one more thing out of it and in its rightful home. More on that tomorrow…
