I’m going to venture a guess here and say that you probably heard the word “binder” a few more times today than you normally might on a typical day. At least the American, debate- watching readers of this fair blog. So it’s sort of a coincidence that I was going to post on that very topic – Naked Binders, to be precise. So now try googling Naked Binders and see if you don’t get some pretty strange post-debate references.
Political jokes aside, I noticed an ad a few weeks back on the sidebar of a favorite blog of mine, Young House Love. I’ll be honest and say that I rarely pay much attention to ads on blogs – and my eyes kind of glaze over when I see sponsored posts – but I did notice an ad for binders and wanted to take a closer look.
I actually love binders – particularly the Kolo photo albums that I have. And I have a very random collection of hand-me-down vinyl binders from various places that hold lots of the house/renovation information. Organizing all of that stuff is another project I have on my to-do list. I’d love to replace that odd mis-matched set of binders with some good looking non-vinyl binders, and that’s what I thought of when I saw that little square ad on YHL.
I’m getting ready to order the white laminate shelving for the back room, and so I’ll likely be posting a lot about what I’m going to put on those shelves, and how I’m going to tackle organizing what we’ve got around here. I really like the simple look of these binders, I like the various options and colors, and I love the eco friendly practices of the company. Once the shelves are up and I know exactly what I need I’m sure I’ll order a few and let you know how they turn out. I’m really digging the small recesses in the binders that will accept a custom made label – I could have a good time getting all clever with the binder titles. Those thrill-a-minute collections of old Home Depot receipts and yellowed paper building permits. Good times, all of them.
See, I can go on and on about binders, and not once mention a single one full of women…
I love YHL (that’s how I discovered your blog!) and office supplies of all kinds. I just need more shelving…
Yeah – bummer our fair city didn’t make the YHL book tour. That would have been fun.
There’s a great house for sale a few doors down from us. We were snooping around during an open house and they had a third floor full of Elfa shelving – shelves galore. You could binder that place all up.
