saturday color

Posted on April 5, 2014 by thirdstoryies

The sun is out today, and it’s hard not to feel a little bit jealous of everyone strolling down the sidewalk towards the deli across the street. The rest of the family is out – for soccer games and errands. I’m inside waiting on the dryer to finish tumbling the two pairs of pants that I can currently wrangle over my gigantic feet. Don’t worry, I will get out in the sunshine at some point, but I think I’ll wait until I have pants on.

Here are three spots of color for your Saturday.

My feet from last night, wrapped in garbage bags, adhesive bandage tape and Saran Wrap (that happened to be red). When I went to have the stitches removed this week I thought I was going to get the green light to shower / bathe again, but was extremely disappointed to hear that I have to wait until the pin comes out – at least another 4 weeks. Last night I took matters into my own hands. Or M’s hands – he’s responsible for the wrap job.

I flipped the calendar to April and found a bright spot to my morning. Eggs we dyed last year with cousins. Foil treatment was so pretty – I think the kit was this one (or similar). Or DIY your own with foils like this tutorial.

And to round it off, I found these photos from this time four years ago. Oh how F loved these blocks. Her sister would stack them up high and then she’d knock them over – always closing her eyes before the tumble. (Nine months is such a delicious age.) I love the sunshine and the colors in her room. She just might have the best room in the house – especially now when we are all sun deprived and in need of some serious color therapy.

Enjoy your weekend and the outdoors for me!
