I was this close to not getting up early enough for the garden walking hours. This past week was really busy, and even though I was exhausted last night, I didn’t sleep very well at all. I stretched out and seriously debated another hour of sleep, but then the sun was pouring through the windows and I knew I’d feel better the rest of the day if I got up and got moving.
The weather is glorious right now. Simply perfect. F and I headed over to the garden while M and E ate breakfast before leaving for E’s soccer game. We walked around for just under an hour, and then met them at the game nearby. It was a fun game to watch – E’s team won 8-0, and E scored a goal and had a couple of assists.
The rest of the day stretched into errands, major lawn work and then an afternoon meetup / picnic that stretched into the evening. In between all of that, I took breaks to sort through photos and make a little progress on the endless list that is our life right now.
It’s good (necessary) to keep a few morning walks in the garden on that list. Always worth it.
Have been trying to comment on the NYC posts, but my son seems to find me right when I am doing so. He’s napping so I’ll take this minute to say I loved the NYC post about One World Trade Center and the photographs were lovely. And second- I LOVE this post! I absolutely agree that garden walks are necessary parts of life. We just left our home for Germany and I miss my very informal, but spring ready flower beds! However, Europe really goes big for spring! Tulips everywhere! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!
went to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle this morning — cannot believe how far ahead you are, bloom-wise. (the daffodil glade was spectacular here, however.) thank you for sharing the gloriousness of the garden with your frostbitten followers in the north.
We went this morning, and it was like heaven had opened up and spilled out – if heaven was composed of azaleas. Then we got caught in the rain! Soaked!
