(eighteen) December 2016. Ice and snow and frigid temperatures have arrived, and various cancellations mean that we have a quiet day ahead of us. I took this photo this morning, sun streaming through the ice covered windows. There’s nothing like a good, heavy cold snap to remind you that you live in an old house, despite all its newness. I’m guessing we’ll all get a little restless as the day goes on – we’ll stretch into different corners when we need to, and we’ll probably bundle up and get outdoors at some point. I’m off to make some oatmeal and some coffee and then I”ll settle in to the day’s tasks of the season. There are still many of them, but they feel different on a snow day. I’m welcoming the cold into the corners this season. It’s always a good reminder to hibernate a bit.
