This morning I had the whole garden to myself. Well, me and about a bazillion other people. It was lovely. E was at a playdate and biking at the park with a friend, M was downtown helping out with a photo competition and I had three and a half glorious hours to myself to spend in the sunshine amongst the tulips. I’m very happy to have an early April birthday – it’s my absolute favorite time of the year in the garden, and this year did not disappoint. The tulips are gathering steam, and we’ve got several more weeks to enjoy them. I wandered around for more than two hours with just a camera and my thoughts, and although I love going to the garden with family, it is quite nice every once in awhile to just go on my own. If I ever had to move and leave this great city I know it is this place that I would miss the most. This garden saved me after the birth of E, and I already look forward to a summer and fall of first waddling, and then wandering around it.
