We learned years ago that stuffing a trunk for holiday travel + fancy packages and bows = disaster. Well, maybe not disaster, but just a lot of smushed and crinkled packages.
Now we wrap most things in kraft paper, and this year I had a lot of holiday-ish washi tape that we used on a lot of the packages. On others we wrapped them with bakers twine.
And on others, the girls got… a little carried away.
But I always appreciate a blank canvas, especially when E gives the little one a couple of guidelines and patiently calls out the letters for “Merry Christmas”. So Werry Christmas you guys!
In some cases we have some cool paper on hand and we use that…
…and in previous years we’ve gone really nuts.
Really nuts. Seriously. Did I pull time out of a vacuum somewhere? I have no idea.
We’re a lot simpler this year, but it’s been fun thinking about all the people in our lives this season, and gathering together simple gifts to share with them, wrapped in brown paper and tied up with a lot of love.
I love your wrapping with the Washi tape – it is making me seriously reconsider my Christmas wrapping next year. You seem to use Washi tape often, I was wondering where you buy it? Thank you.
You can find them online, but I bought several two-packs at The Container Store. Each pack had a silver one and a red one. I used the silver for an earlier photo project, and so I had lots of the red rolls left over.
If you are nearby, ArtMart might have some too.
