I typically start my cards in late fall – at least the planning and material purchasing, but this year my timeline got shifted quite a bit because of my testing. The later Thanksgiving holiday also meant one less weekend of December prep, so most of my cards went out on Monday or Tuesday of Christmas week. Even so, they should have arrived at most spots on Wednesday or Friday of that week, so I was starting to panic a bit when I realized that no one I talked to had received theirs. I started to imagine returning home from our travels and finding a mailbox full of a hundred return-to-sender envelopes. Luckily, most started showing up on Saturday or early this week. I’m not sure what caused the delay, but I’m guessing it was my choice of white ink for the gray envelopes. I think there wasn’t enough contrast in color to be read by the automated sorters that get things along their way a little quicker. If your card hasn’t shown up yet, it should be there soon. (I hope!) Lesson learned on the addressing.
I mentioned in my holiday message that there were some subtle references in the card to previous cards. Here’s the “key” if you want to see how many you found.
I also used the same envelope size/shape as 2001, 2004 and 2006 – it’s one of my favorite. Tall and skinny – like my house. (And husband!)
Wishing you a very Happy New Year! I’m excited for what 2015 holds, and I’m glad you all are here.
Your cards are beautiful. Do you display your holiday cards as part of your holiday decorations? I am looking for ideas to display my annual holiday cards.
No, I don’t. I keep them in an envelope, which isn’t very festive! It was fun to pull them back out this year.

I love your Christmas cards. I anxiously await their arrival each year. I remember those snowmen, and all the lovely cards. Thanks for sending it.
I love sending them! I hope you had a great holiday. Sorry our paths didn’t cross this year.
Your card looks beautiful as always! In the process of moving I decided to pull a copy of each Christmas card to put in an envelope for the kids. I hope some day they will enjoy looking at the entire collection again.
I still have some cards to send out this year! Thankfully they have no real holiday message. I may just surprise people in late January!
Hope all is well with your family. Let’s plan to see each other over the summer. ~bk
So beautiful!
