  1. LOVE this story. And I can’t believe that I found you through that post on YHL and now here we’ll be meeting up sometime in the near future. Crazy small world. Our new house (fingers crossed) has the third bedroom on the third floor too, so we will be moving Ethan up there when another baby arrives someday, though I don’t think it will be quite as amazing as your room. 🙂

  2. Love that you went to Clemson!! Me, too! What year did you graduate? Love the blog! Everything is beautifully decorated!

  3. Your whole house is lovely, but E’s room might be my favorite. I grew up in a two story house, and my room was the front room on the top floor with two big windows facing the street. I loved it. Lucky girl to live on the top floor!

  4. I graduated in ’01. We try to take the kids (2 girls, 1 boy) back for at least one game a year, if possible. We live in Omaha, NE now — so it’s not always easy to get home! We pay CRAZY amounts of money each football season so we can watch the games out here! The kids are thoroughly brainwashed and ask me to sing the alma mater for their goodnight song 🙂 Can’t wait for the post! Go Tigers!!

    1. Now that’s dedication! I can’t say that I’m a die hard fan, but I really, really enjoyed the football games while I was there. Never missed one – and those were not our strongest years, for sure.

  5. I’m one of those readers who found you through YHL. I’m really enjoying this series! Could you maybe have a post some day that explains more about your backgrounds – how did your husband come by his incredible building skills? How did y’all get brave enough to take on this project?

  6. “Everything about the space screamed [condemnation] charming attic nursery” – hilarious!

I’m so impressed with your ability to transform your home!

It was great meeting you last week! It’s funny that a post on YHL is what led me here – it can really be a small world some times 🙂

    1. Really though – I look back on these photos and wonder what we were smoking. I remember being so giddy about this house, and now when I see the pictures I think “most people would run from this place screaming.”

It was so nice meeting you too – good luck on your upcoming move. Hope we can meet up again sometime.

  7. Oops! Thought I submitted my comment, but I guess I didn’t.

Yeah I definitely think I’d be too intimidated (aka there’d be running & screaming) if I were faced with a house needing so much work. So kudos to you guys for riding that wave of giddiness to this beautiful place!

And thanks! I can’t wait to be in our new place. And I’ll definitely let you know when we’re in the neighborhood (checking out the deli & your beautiful mansard roof!)
