We finished up the touch up paint on this area and put some of the shelves back. Then E sorted through the bin that was holding various “works of art”, and I also forced her to go through the giant red bucket in her room which holds “works in progress”. This bucket came about because I kept inadvertently (sort of) picking up scrap pieces of paper and tape off the floor and throwing them into the recycling bin, failing to realize that they were a key component of a larger work still in its early stages. Oops. The red bucket concept worked great, at least for a few days, until it filled up to overflowing. So I pulled out the bin and the bucket and told her to sort – those things ready for display, those still in progress, and all the rest that could be recycled. Guess which pile was the smallest?
But, I do think she did a nice job with the arrangement and the selection for this space. She’s got a nice ocean scene theme going on in the middle, and the star coral came home from school, along with a parrot fish, so other than the ceramic car bank, we have some order to the gallery. She also kept the birthday hats on display, and labeled them nicely. At the rate she completes new projects around here, I’m sure things will move in and out. I know she likes the layout part – so I think we’ve achieved our goal for this space. Now…onto the magnetic paint…
