This is the fifth year for the foodie feast / wine tasting that we’ve enjoyed for the past five years (and participated in the past two). There are a few available spots if you are interested. We have a different venue each year, and the location is a particularly cool one this year. Even better? The menu.
I’ll be in the kitchen every night this week, working on the fifth course. I’ve got a few ideas going, and a bunch of late season, peach-dripping goodness in the kitchen, and maybe a little bourbon too. Looking forward to the taste testing as I go along. Here’s what we’ll be serving (and for the vegetarians among you, there will be equally complimentary courses for you as well).
All foods will be paired with wines from Robller Vineyard in New Haven Missouri, and the vast majority of the ingredients are locally sourced – many from good friends and supporters of E’s school.
-First Course-Local Artisanal Cheese with Black Cherry Compote-Second Course-Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage Brown Butter and Arugula-Third Course –Pork Slider with Caramelized Onions-Fourth Course –Medallion of Beef with Fresh Corn Risotto and Wild Mushroom FricasseePeach Tart with Dulce De Leche Ice Cream-In Summary-Kakao Chocolate and Coffee
Speaking of E’s school – all proceeds go to support the various programs (including the culinary arts!). The cost is $45 a person – a really great deal for such a good meal and good wines. We’d love to have you – it’s always a great group of people with a relaxed, open vibe – trust me, you won’t feel like a stranger. Email me at thirdstoryies at gmail dot com if you are interested.
