M brought home a projector from work and we set up a poor man’s theater in the living room. First night, Pink Panther 2, second night, Harry Potter, of course, and with a friend. It was a big hit.

I’m not one to attach a lot of sentimentality to a particular day. I don’t have huge expectations that a certain holiday must go absolutely smoothly in order for it to feel like a success. I’m happy to celebrate a birthday a few days later with a quiet dinner if it’s more convenient. The lesser…
