This week has been so busy that the activities of the baby have taken a back burner to the activities going on in the outside world. I’ve fallen into bed each night so thoroughly exhausted that after a few vigorous kicks and spins I’ve tuned out, waking only for the nightly trip to the bathroom and the obligatory flips to find a more comfortable side lying position. Perhaps the baby is actually doing more sleeping at night now, because it surely has been more active during the day. The last three days I’ve been on jury duty and the baby never seemed to stop moving during the entire process.
It’s been exciting around here for a number of reasons, many of which I’ll post (with photos) as soon as I can find the time to sit down for a few moments. But the belly is looking nice and round, and I’ve noticed people are a bit more inclined now to ask when I’m due now that I’m most certainly looking pregnant. Note to self and others: arching your back, throwing your stomach out and waddling into the courtroom will not get you out of your civic duty. It will, however, give the judge good reason to allow bottled water in the courtroom and call what seemed to be a ridiculous amount of recesses for leg stretching and bathroom breaks (all of which I took advantage of).
We’ve hit pretty much all of the fetal milestones, so now we’re just fattening up the baby. Time is really whizzing by now… and I have a feeling it will continue to speed up until we get to the end of the road.
