We opted not to schlep the new baby’s stuff around in our Trader Joe’s shopping bag after all and decided to pick up a genuine diaper bag. We hit one of our favorite stores, City Sprouts, and picked this one up. M thinks the pattern is vaguely floral, but I think it’s pretty gender neutral and nice – plus it has the cool side straps that attach it to the stroller, and it’s a nice size – not too large, not too small. Our crib is still floating out at sea somewhere between Europe and the east coast, so they gave us a discount on the bag (not the crib, too bad!) for the wait. We’re also waiting on the sheep mobile to come in, so our last minute is becoming very last minute.
This shirt arrived for E from her Nana and she was delighted with it. It fits perfectly and is currently spinning around the washing machine so as to be ready for the big day. At 1:45 this morning things got really down to business, and for the next three hours I experienced the kind of contractions I remembered from E’s birth, late in the game. But by the weak light of morning things had slowed down a bit and we drifted back off to sleep. We seem to be in a six hours on / six hours off pattern – but that’s okay because today was that kind of perfect stay-at-home vacation day that we really needed. The kind of stay-at-home vacation day that is nothing like those stay-at-home days after the baby arrives! Hooray for the long weekend! Hope you have a great holiday. We’ll let you know when our fireworks get started in earnest.
Enjoy your SkipHop! I have two already, but I’m totally loving your messenger! The “floral” pattern is adorable, but I would’ve pegged you for the stripes! 🙂
