For at least a month now this little one has watched us eat dinner, following the forks to our mouths longingly, sighing a bit as they re-emerge swiped clean. In honor of her almost half-year birthday (gulp) later this week, we broke out that blandest of all bland cereals and gave her a shot at it. Spend a moment looking at these shots – the anticipation, the realization, and then finally, the resignation – and see how much you would enjoy disappointing this kid.
And then! A flicker of hope out of the corner of her eye. Big sister E sits down to join her in this thing called eating. A banana. Now you’re talking.
No such luck. Just this bowl of soupy paste remains. It will get better, baby girl, I promise.
Oh, those eyes!!! How soon can we spice up that cereal?
