I’m actually typing this on my own computer – it’s still in the process of being put back together, but there are signs of life again, and that’s a very positive thing. I’m also waiting on the last thing in the oven to finish baking. It’s nearing midnight on the baby’s first birthday, but we’ve barely even begun to celebrate. Tomorrow morning we’ll gather with friends and family and show her what this whole birthday thing is about. In our family it’s lots of food, lots of people and always a bit over the top on the theme. We’ve had so much fun planning this party – her sister has been pulling out monkey things from toy bins long ago abandoned, and what we didn’t already have in our possession she’s made on her own (paper palm trees with swinging monkeys from the branches, for example). I’ve been writing notes to F on her one-month birthdays, and I’ve always written letters to E on each of her birthdays. I have one for the baby this year, but I think I’ll wait and post it with photos that should be up and running any day now… just like this on-the-move one year old soon will be.
