friday finds

This Friday, we found fish.  We found so many other things today as well – we found ourselves with E, who had the day off of school.  We found yet another gorgeously warm Fall day.  We found a nice corner of a coffee shop, a bagel for three, a feast of Fall colors in the garden, and the perfect birthday gift for someone special we know who is soon to turn five.  We’ll share those photos in due time, but for now I’m going to go and spend a rare quiet afternoon with the older one while the little one sleeps – working side by side on our Christmas tasks.  Enjoy this photo that captures the joy of the find, of standing on tiptoes, chin on weathered wood, sun warming your backside, shade covering your face, watching the antics of fish dressed in the colors of Fall.  I will find myself looking at this photo years from now, remembering those perfect cheeks and dimpled fingers.
