::blueberry scones in the oven, and a quiet, early morning house
::the sounds of stirring above me – the quiet before the noise and bustle of the morning
::the addition of lights to the pine garland on the wrought iron fence
::after trying fifteen ways to configure extension cords and strings of lights over four panels and bypassing one gate, the fence is finally lit correctly. Yesterday it had a nice trip hazard of lights across the sidewalk at the gate, but I promised that I’d find some camping stakes in the basement and secure them tightly to the ground
::while I caught up on some emails, M found the camping stakes and fixed the lights so that I didn’t have to
::and then, while looking for the stakes he found something else I’ve been looking for – the final gift for Christmas. Hooray!
::reading the holiday books that come out just for the season
::having the little one point out familiar letters that start her friends’ names, and remembering the early days of letter joy that the older one experienced. I do love watching the reading process unfold, especially in those beginning stages
::going to bed at 10:30 and not 1:30
::footie pajamas (not mine, but F’s)
