It’s funny to me how sometimes I can find an image that sums up the intersection of several things that I have going on at this moment. And while none of them involve an embroidered big green cabinet, I still did a double take on these before and after shots on Design*Sponge yesterday.
I have several projects going on at the moment in various stages of planning and execution. Several involve embroidery thread which I haven’t had in my hands since I made friendship bracelets on the bus to middle school. I also have some ideas floating around in my head for the cabinet in our bathroom, as well as some cards in the works, and some birthday clothes in the works… and somehow they all seemed to trigger something when I saw this cabinet makeover.
Years ago (over six) I made the birth announcements for my new niece. They involved embroidering paper – lots and lot and lots of paper – and that idea of taking needle and thread to paper – or even tall green cabinets! – fascinates me still. The wheels have been turning a lot around here, and the creative outlets have done a lot for my current frame of mind. When the stresses at work pile up I tend to translate that stress into feelings of not being good enough, smart enough, fast enough. It’s not rational, but it happens. Letting loose a little of the nighttime creative juices help, and translating projects from my head space to my house space always helps.
The cupboard is fabulous and it’s very inspiring as well!
Happy weekend!
