We are operating at such a frenetic pace these days in May as the school year winds down and the summer schedule ramps up. The amount of things on my to-do list today have been mind boggling – from orchestrating a series of pickups and drop offs that began before eight this morning, and will end well past midnight tonight – jumping from contractor project meeting to school science fair to work again, and then to dinner and baths and Girl Scouts and board meetings and Soiree meetings. In stolen moments here and there I’ve clipped old Brownie badges off a vest, cut out a few monster eyeballs, filled out a couple of forms, sunscreened a garden-going girl, stashed $5 into a backpack for a camping fee, posted this photo, brushed my teeth and sort-of brushed my hair. Made breakfast, bought lunch, and will reheat dinner. More monsters to make, and then M’s mom arrives late in the night – and right into the mess that is our overwhelmed house. Luckily she won’t care.
Ask me what I want for Mother’s Day this year?
A nap.
