…a new tree in our living room. We debated – a bit – on whether or not to get one for the living room this year since half of it is still under construction. But we opted to skip out on the eleven footers and settled for a nice 8 or 9 footer, and stuck it in the opposite corner. It might end up looking a little dusty by the time the month rolls by, but it certainly feels like Christmas in there now.
There she is – the tall one above. It was kind of fun walking through the aisles of trees this year to pick one out. Usually we’re shopping from the oversized piles in the back where you have to flag down a worker and ask him to manhandle an eleven foot tree into place and then spin it so you can view it from all sides. It was also fun to pay half the cost as well, which was good because I think pine roping doubled in price this year.
I also found a cute little Charlie Brown tree in the rows, but wasn’t sure I wanted a spindly little tree with purple snow boots so I passed it by.
And there she is – decorated by 10:30 pm and only requiring a moderate sized step ladder and no scaffolding. Easy peasy. Now, back to those book shelves on the opposite end of the room. (See the collecting piles on the table? Even they are getting antsy.)
Hope this finds you well this Friday, and maybe breaking your own “Not Until December” rules on this last day of November.
