I headed upstairs after dinner expecting to see the girls in pajamas and getting ready for bed. Instead I found them sitting together with their sketchbooks, working on wintery pictures. They are clever, these girls. If you’re going to attempt to squeak out a little more play time before bed time, and avoid getting into trouble in the process, then you might want to stage something as adorably played as this.
They are smart. If I grab the camera, they know they’re home free.
Tonight I organized the rooms downstairs, and the presents that are already wrapped. Last night I finished up the artwork part of the envelopes, and I have half of them addressed. I was pretty tired today at work so I think it’s best to turn in early and gear up for the weekend – there are songs to be sung, dinners to eat and Nutcrackers to watch. Wishing we were watching my beautiful nieces performing in the big time Nutcracker. Wishing we were celebrating a birthday with my other beautiful niece. Wishing there was a way to be so many places at once this holiday season, but oh, so very, very glad to find ourselves at home, in pajamas at eight, playing Connect Four, eating pie, and, of course, sketching…
They are so cute. I love this.
