Since I’ve been thinking of beaches lately, I thought I’d take a quick look back at some of the pictures we took seven years ago when we went to Hawaii with M’s parents. We visited several of the islands, but Kauai was our very favorite. I’d like to go back there someday.
E was just three at the time, and all the beach time she knew at that point was on Sanibel, a beach full of shells for collecting and studying and decorating sand castles. Each new beach we visited on three of the islands here had a completely different kind of sand color and texture. She loved exploring them all, but I think she was a little confused about the lack of shells. She would spend a great deal of time hunting and digging for anything that wasn’t sand, and she’d proudly display her finds when she got lucky.
Shells or no shells, I’d take it.
