I didn’t realize how many of these I had photographed, but I’m glad I did. There’s such a variety in the garden, and I love them all.
Last Saturday I set my alarm pretty early so that I could make time for this visit. It’s been awhile since I’ve gone to the garden by myself, and it was a good time to do it. I was knee deep in soiree work, and we had a busy weekend ahead of us. I knew if I didn’t make the time for it first thing, it wouldn’t happen. I plan to do the same tomorrow before heading into the office as I work towards a big deadline. I’m going to soak up as much sun and fresh air as I can to get me through the day.
F and I have been watching the allium bloom – I took these shots for her, and then we visited them again in person on Wednesday. They look so cool as they open, these pods split in two and the purple balls emerge. You can track the pattern of the sun through the stages of allium blooms. They are one of my favorite spring flowers. (And peonies, of course!)
great shots all — what’s the blue ruffly tulip-looking thing?
It’s an iris – isn’t it pretty?
