I almost combined these with last Saturday’s garden photos but decided not to, and now it’s less than twelve hours before I head over there again. So I’m just going to turn over this blog to the flowers for a bit. I mentioned a few days ago that I got a new camera, and I’m using my garden walks to try it out. The results aren’t always perfect, but it’s fun to play.
The sun is a lot higher now in the early morning, and so I find myself steering us towards the shade. It’s not that it’s hot necessarily, it’s just that I love the way mornings feel here when the sun is still partly hidden and the landscape feels like a lush painting.
The peonies have been beautiful this spring. I love when we find them in places we weren’t expected, like spilling along the edges of a hidden path.
She’s still rock hopping in the woodlands. One day we’ll probably be reprimanded for doing it, but she’s careful not to disturb anything as she wanders. Occasionally she gets a bit worried about how she’ll get back – on the way out, the rocks look closer together than they do on the way back!
The lilies are coming – we saw the first signs of them on Wednesday. That seems too soon, but May keeps moving along and the garden is always good at keeping up.
